ABOUT

We are members of Valley Heights Community Church, which is part of the Springwood-Winmalee Anglican Churches, Australia.  VHCC is all about the hope, purpose, and community that's found in Christ.  We have a pretty laid back style - but we take the Bible seriously and we are passionate about Jesus.

With this in mind, the VHCC Book Club has been designed to help people grow more in their knowledge and understanding of God, and how we can bring to the fore aspects of our faith in our lives EVERYDAY, not just on Sunday.  We wanted to find something that would activate our Christian thinking throughout the week and get our minds really engaged.

SO, the VHCC Book Club has been brought into fruition.

As Christians we need to be actively thinking about what God is saying to us though his word, the Bible. But, I feel that I need to do more than just read the Bible. It is my hope that through reading Christian books we may be better equipped to know how to respond to the challenges we face everyday. It's also valuable for us to be encouraging and challenging each other in our Christian thinking.  Not only this, but we want to build a stronger and more dynamic community in our church.

How are we going to do this? We are going to read one book every six weeks. Every week there will be a blog post about the book on the blog and the members of the Book Club will post comments in response to the post, thereby encouraging each other in sharing our thoughts and responses to the book.

It is our hope that through doing this, we may be built up and strengthened in our knowledge and understanding of our great God.
